AnnoyingNavi

After TweetElisa, I stoped playing with this twitter bots. Some time passed (2 months) and a friend of mine called Laura Gassert came up with a new idea for a bot: “Navi”.

If you don’t know who Navi is, quickly click here so you can leave this ignorant’s life behind. If you don’t want to receive more mentions from Navi, click here. Just remember to do this when Navi is up…

But… How does it work?

Anyone that uses twitter and is somewhat inteligent already know about @DBZNappa… so… Navi is the same thing with a diferent theme. Every 5 minutes (I hope) it searches for the word “Zelda” and replies “Hey! Listen” or some other of Navi’s lines.

Are there restrictions?

  1. Twitter has restrictions on the number of tweet one can send at a time (“twitter API rate limit”), so Navi can’t reach everyone that tweets “Zelda”.
  2. Navi will not send tweets to people with “zelda” in their username in order not to flood people called Zelda.
  3. Navi will not send tweets to people that replied to people with “zelda” in their username, so that it won’t flood the friends of people called Zelda.

I supply the ideas above as common inspiration however clearly there are questions just like the one you convey up where a very powerful thing might be working in trustworthy good faith. I don?t know if finest practices have emerged around things like that, however I’m certain that your job is clearly recognized as a good game. Each boys and girls feel the affect of only a moment’s pleasure, for the remainder of their lives.

Unfortunately, twitter suspended Navi for sending too much unwanted replies. I’ve tried to appeal the suspension but they decided to keep it.

There are thousands of blogs that requires comments on them. What is the intention of blog comments?

Blogs don’t require comments, they allow them. Although it’s practically the same thing, the idea is very different since requiring comments could be seen as “I want to make content that people will like”, and allowing comments is like “I made this article about something I want to talk about, what is your take on the subject?”.

The main difference is that, in the first case, blog is like TV in words (although TV doesn’t have comments, it makes series based on an assumption about what people will watch), whereas in the second case, blog is an interactive way to communicate.

Is using a copyright material as a reference to write articles illegal?

As reference, it’s not illegal, what is ilegal is to copy parts of the material without citing the source.
